In 2002 this 27-minute documentary about the biggest migration on earth, the “Sardine Run”, was made for the german TV channel VOX. Thousands and thousands of tons of sardines migrate every year northwards along the eastern coast of South Africa…

The biggest “fast food restaurant” in the world attracts many predators. From the south come Humpback Whales, Bottlenose Dolphins, Bronze Whalers, White Sharks, Sandtigers, Cape Fur Seals, Penguins and also countless sea birds. From the east come Bryde Whales, Minke Whales, Orcas, Common Dolphins, Dusky Sharks, Mako Sharks and numerous open sea birds. From the north come tropical predator fish like rays, mantas, Tiger Sharks, Raggies, Black Tips and also Barracudas, Tunas, Sword Fish and more Bottlenose Dolphins. From the west comes man.

This documentary was shown already a few times on VOX-TV.

The Big Feast won the “PRIX INFORMATION” on the International Underwater Film & Photo Festival in Antibes 2002 in the category of professional documentaries.

International Underwater Film Festival in Moscow
The Big Feast was nominated, among two other documentaries, for the “Best Film” of the International Underwater Film Festival in Moscow 2003.

World Festival of Underwater Images
The Big Feast won the REPORTAGE VIDEO AWARD on the World Festival of Underwater Images in KOBE, JAPAN in 2002.
